Join PHAS at the Desmond-Fish Library for an afternoon dedicated to Owls, led by Dr. Laura Jaworski. Children and Adult programs! Meet 4 different owls and learn what we can do to help them thrive.

On February 4, two members of the Putnam Pollinator Pathway will offer a Zoom presentation “Gardening for Birds and Pollinators” aimed at helping gardeners begin or expand their gardens to make them a year-round haven.

From blooms to berries, from design tenets to final delights, the presentation will cover the whys and hows of gardening for our winged friends. We want you to leave with a fresh perspective and new ideas.

What birds can we expect to see in the winter months at bird feeders and when we visit local parks and sanctuaries? How do birds adapt to winter weather? What winter bird sounds can we hear? Anne Swaim, Executive Director of the Saw Mill River Audubon, will explore these and other questions with many images and video clips of local birds in winter. Come tune up your eyes and ears for winter birding!

Join members of PHAS at Topfield Center for a FREE accessible and inclusive birding event! Bring binoculars and get ready to learn. Last year, over 30 bird species were identified (and there are horses, too)! No experience necessary.

This will be a great walk for children and families to get the basics under their belts! Join Puffin Pete in this collaboration with the Butterfield Library to learn about birds as they migrate.

Presented by PHAS and the Constitution Marsh Audubon Society, this guided canoe trip through the marsh will reveal elusive breeding birds that call the river marsh their home.

Spots are limited, so reserve now for $50/pp. Includes life jackets, binoculars and canoes. Registration is required at the link below.

Participants must be at least 8 years old. Light canoe/kayak experience is required.

Participants will be asked to drive down and park adjacent to the Constitution Marsh Audubon Center.

*Rain/weather permitting. Cancellations due to conditions will be at the discretion of staff. A reschedule date will be announced.

Waivers must be completed ahead of the event, and will be emailed after registration.
