She’s back by popular demand! Join birder and young naturalist Arabella P. for a morning of exploration on the picturesque Stony Kill Farm, in Dutchess County, with rolling fields perfect for migrating passerines. The 750 acres of ponds, meadows, and hardwood forests, purchased as part of a larger section of land from the Wappinger people, became the homesite and working farm of the Verplank family in the 1700s.

As we explore this diverse habitat and historic property, expect to encounter anything from Savannah, White-crowned, and Chipping Sparrows to Killdeer, Eastern Kingbirds, Eastern Meadowlarks, or even a peenting American Woodcock. We may also come across Cedar Waxwings feasting on the berries of nearby woodland flowering trees such as the Serviceberry or get a glimpse of American Kestrels and Northern Harriers hunting in open meadows. With a variety of habitats to explore, we are bound to have an eventful and birdy morning!
